NUST confers degree on Bosnian president
The degree was awarded by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in recognition to his services towards world peace.
ISLAMABAD:
The National University of Science and Technology (Nust) on Wednesday conferred an honorary degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD) on President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegovic.
The degree was awarded by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in recognition to his services towards world peace.
The prime minister said Izetbegovic had demonstrated leadership at a time when the world in general and Europe in particular was undergoing dynamic changes.
“We have seen Bosnia rise from the ashes of a civil war and emerge as a federation, which gives us hope and encouragement,” he said. He announced to offer 30 seats for graduate and PhD students from Bosnia.
Izetbegovic said Bosnian people have faced genocide and witnessed the “hypocritical” attitude of the international community. He appreciated Nust for honouring his services.
