FESCO workers to be treated at FIC

Board approves new training regime, amended TA/DA rules.

The Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology (FIC) will provide heart treatment to Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) employees.


The agreement was approved in a meeting of the FESCO Board of Directors (BOD) on Wednesday, chaired by FESCO Chairman Nadeem Aftab Sindhu.

The FESCO employees were previously treated for heart problems at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore. The board also approved a training policy for FESCO employees.


Human Resources Acting Director General Nasir Hayat Maken told the board that the FESCO Distribution Control Centre (DCC) was working round the clock. He also said the staff of other distribution companies (DISCOs), including LESCO, PESCO, GEPCO, MEPCO and IESCO was getting 10 per cent of their basic pay as special allowance. The board approved the allowance for FESCO DCC staff.

The board approved a panel of workshops for the repair and maintenance of FESCO vehicles. The board also approved the external electrification of a three-marla housing scheme in Bhakkar.

The board was told that consumers on the Aminpur and Langrana feeders were complaining of low voltages. Permission was granted to divide the feeders and create a new feeder.

The board also allowed FESCO to adopt amended TA/DA rules as approved by the federal government’s Finance Division.

The meeting was attended by FESCO Chief Executive Officer Iftikhar Ahmad, Malik Asghar Ali Qasir, Muhammad Hamid Javed, Rana Muhammad Mushtaq, Mian Muhamma Latif, Tariq Mehmood, Wasif Majeed, Muzammil Sultan, Saifullah and Shahid Raza.
