Vacuum technology: Researchers discuss progress

Over 225 papers by 45 foreign and 180 local researchers will also be presented.

ISLAMABAD:
Scientists from over 30 countries and 250 delegates from local research and development institutes gathered at the Pak-China Friendship Centre on Tuesday to discuss recent developments in vacuum technology and its uses. The sixth “Vacuum and Surface Sciences Conference of Asia and Australia” was inaugurated by Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali. The biennial event will continue for five days and will feature an industrial exhibition of vacuum equipment and industrial systems besides showcasing the products of local and international manufacturers. “Pakistan is rich in natural resources and possesses sufficient manpower. I am optimistic that we are moving ahead,” said the minister. Over 225 papers by 45 foreign and 180 local researchers will also be presented.
