Khyber agency; Peace militia clashes with LI militants

The militia claimed to have killed LI militants but did not succeed in capturing the hideout.

BARA: A volunteer of the Touhedul Islam (TI) peace militia was killed and three others injured when they clashed with militants of Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in Tirah valley, Khyber Agency on Monday. A security official said that Taj Muhammad, a volunteer, was killed when the TI militia attacked the Dally hideout of the militants. The militia claimed to have killed LI militants but did not succeed in capturing the hideout. The injured were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital in Landi Kotal. Later, they were sent to a hospital in Peshawar due to their critical condition. Last Thursday, TI members gunned down two LI militants in Zakha Khel Bazar to avenge the murder of an LI commander, Ghuncha Gul.
