Tennis: Karachi to host ITF event

The event is scheduled for November 2, though only two foreign entries have been made out of the 45 players.

KARACHI:
Karachi will host an International Tennis Federation tournament for the first time in four years after the Pakistan Seniors Tennis Association (PSTA) earned the permission for the world ranking championship to be held in Karachi Gymkhana in Novemeber. The event is scheduled for November 2, though only two foreign entries have been made out of the 45 players who will feature in the tournament, though they hope to get more by October 16. “So far an Indian and a Turkish player have registered with us,” PSTA President Khalid Rehmani told The Express Tribune. “It’s a regular event now and we are excited to hold it in Karachi. It is also a great way to promote tennis.”
