Academic award: UAF dean clinches TWAS fellowship
The TWAS, Trieste, Italy, awarded the fellowship during its 23rd general meeting held in Beijing.

University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Faculty of Agriculture Dean Dr Ashfaq has been granted Third World Academy of Science (TWAS) fellowship for his research during 2011.
The TWAS, Trieste, Italy, awarded the fellowship during its 23rd general meeting held in Beijing with the Chinese president in the chair.
Dr Ashfaq is the president of the Entomology Society in Pakistan, life fellow of the Zoological Society of Pakistan, executive member of the International Congress of Entomologists and a fellow of the Pakistan Academy of Science. He is the author of 14 books and has supervised 28 PhD scholars and 127 MPhil students.
He has completed 24 funded research projects, developed eight new technologies and reported 36 new species of insects.
