He added that in 2006, Pakistan had found the dead body of Osama bin Laden, and after identifying him through a DNA test, had handed the corpse over to the Americans who then brought it over to Abbottabad and planted it in a house after attacking it. The Abbottabad operation was done to bring Pakistan under pressure and punish the Muslims.
Dr Mujahid Kamran is the scion of a journalist family that I have admired for its integrity and personal kindness to me. He is a PhD in Physics and was reappointed VC of Punjab University by the chief minister and the governor of Punjab in January this year. He won the Abdus Salam Prize in 1985, the National Book Council Award in 1986 and the Presidential Pride of Performance Award in 1999.
Some Pakistanis will not accept that the Pakistan Army did the dirty job of handing over the corpse of Osama bin Laden to America so that it could perpetrate another fraud in May 2011 in Abbottabad.
Writing in Dunya (September 13, 2012), Haroon Rashid challenged Dr Kamran that Pakistani agencies handed over the dead body of Osama bin Laden to the Americans in 2006 after disinterring it and that the drama of 9/11 was staged by America to damage Pakistan. Rashid stated that it was not credible that Pakistan’s military establishment was involved in this conspiracy against Pakistan. And how was it that this conspiracy was revealed to the Punjab University VC and no one else?
There is a history of denial of 9/11 that must be recalled. Writing in daily Insaf (September 9, 2003), Dr Shahid Masood stated that there was growing evidence that America actually manipulated the 9/11 incidents to initiate a new policy towards the Islamic world. There was not enough proof that the third hijacked plane was actually brought down by a tussle in the plane and not by the American fighter planes flying alongside the aircraft. He said there were only two Israelis in the World Trade Centre buildings at the time the hijacked aircraft struck them.
In Pakistan, leading Jamaat-e-Islami leaders such as Professor Ghafoor Ahmad and Professor Khurshid Ahmad wrote extensively on the theme, relying on well-known left-wing French publications ‘proving’ 9/11 to be a stage-managed American event.
But another version exists too. There are on-record statements given to the Al Jazeera network by Osama himself admitting that al Qaeda had staged the 9/11 attacks. There is also the so-called Jalalabad tape and other credible evidence like the following:
Columnist Hamid Mir wrote in Jang (November 1, 2004) that by announcing that he had carried out the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden in his cassette on October 29, 2004 had revealed the falsehood of Muslim intellectuals and ulema that the 9/11 acts of terrorism had been committed by the Jews.
Hamid Mir wrote that when he was in Jalalabad in November 2001, he discovered that every al Qaeda member had the photo of Muhammad Ata (the leader of the hijackers, who crashed two airliners into the World Trade Centre buildings) on their laptop computers. After that, he became convinced that Osama had done the deed. In fact, as a later cassette revealed, Osama had thought of the 9/11 attacks in 1982 when the US had destroyed Lebanon through Israel.

@Romo:
ofc they staged it
osama CIA trained - scapegoat
attacks were orchestrated which gave the USA an excuse to slowly started invading the middle east which they are, partly for oil resources , partly to continue building barriers between themselves and russia
coldwar is ongoing as well is the race for natural resources apologies if anyone is offended but, because so many americans lack common sense; these things are happening.
are you honestly trying to tell me , that a country who has satellites that can pinpoint locations to centimetres, who have nukes everywhere and missiles left right and centre
would let 2 aeroplanes slip thru and crash into their biggest economic centre and one of their military offices..... just saying that sounds hilarious...
@Lala Gee: "Is this the way to cheat by sacrificing 40,000 lives of civilians and servicemen"
The 40,000losses are worthy of mourning. But they cannot be attributed to the war of terror. They are part of the internal insurgency with TTP that has nothing to do with US. Pakistan not only refuses to fight Afghan Taliban but in fact provides safe havens to Quetta Shura and Haqqanis who are fighting US. IT is for this reason that US calls it 2 faced.
@Yuri Kondratyuk: "And most people ought to know these calculations by the time they pass matriculation!!"
That is tough. Not many Pakistanis will be able to do the calculations then...
This is a joke. Anyone with a brain knows that it was a false flag attack. The evidence is overwheming. This piece is rubbish. Osamas body is irelevent.
@Lala Gee:
FYKI, Afghanistan isn't the property of Pakistan or US. It belongs to Afghans.
@Cautious:
All one needs is a simple calculation involving the thermal conductivity/specific heat of steel/concrete, equation of aviation fuel combustion and melting point of steel. And most people ought to know these calculations by the time they pass matriculation!!
@Romo:
I don't approve what Taibans, in particular, or Muslims, in general, are doing and I also agree with most of your other thoughts in your post . . . . especially "The Talibans are a threat to everyone including Muslims who want to live in peace".
However, I do take exception to your rather simplistic assertion that US would leave us alone if we do this or don't do that, or your belief that "The US would love to see everyone get along with each other"!
The fact is that US has her own specific interests and will do whatever is needed to achieve these goals regardless whether we act as 'bad boys' or we act as 'good boys'. Witness the mess in Central America, Middle East and Far East over the past several decades.
For a better understanding of America's position, I will strongly recommend reading "Hegemony Or Survival - America's Quest For Global Dominance" by Noam Chomsky .
Oh yes, one more thing . . . . Regarding "Do also remember how the US came about: it’s a United Nations in practice . . ". I hope and pray that you never mention this in the presence of a Native American , , , as his/her response will surprise you . . . . likely in more ways than one ;-)
@Thomas:
"Osama was living in Musharaff’s basement to get the aid by cheating the gullable Americans for 10 years. Atlast, they found out and killed Osama, but the grevious and painful punishment for Pakistan by America has only just started. It is never a good idea to cheat and double cross a partner, it may become very dangerous!!!."
You blame Pakistan for playing double game in War on Terror, I tell you what the double game USA played with us in Afghanistan. You promised us, while seeking Pakistan's help, that no hostile government towards Pakistan would be allowed to form in Kabul, but you just did the opposite and a hostile government of Northern Alliance was installed in Kabul. Then you invited Pakistan's arch rival India in Afghanistan and gave her free reign which India used in destabilizing Pakistan by supporting TTP and BLA terrorists as they did in 1968-71 in East Pakistan by training and arming Mukhti Bahini insurgents. The unilateral OBL operation in Abbottabad (notwithstanding ISI captured over 600 high level Al-Qaida operatives including 9/11 master mind) and Salala incident show how friendly the US was towards Pakistan. And you blame Pakistan is cheating US. Is this the way to cheat by sacrificing 40,000 lives of civilians and servicemen as well as incurring losses of almost $100 billion in terms of lost productivity apart from social and emotional costs.
@Citizen of Pakistan: "While our country is trying very hard to jail break from US, and at an enormous human and economic cost, let us not forget that this war is our war of independence. Independence from Taliban, from US, from Saudi Arabia and to a lesser extent to fend off Iranian influence and protect our soil from Indian subversive activities and overt intimidation."
As a nation you can never stand tall as long as you continue to believe that others and not you are responsible for all the ills facing your country.
It is important that such a VC be immediately removed and should be called by the courts to prove his theory. Until and unless we dont wash our hands off such pseudo-intellectuals, our education system and we as a ntion are doomed.
The guy is a VC of a university? God save your future!
Conspiracy theories aside, 17 of the 9/11 pilots were Saudis but today Pakistan gets all the beating for the Al Qaeda work planned or perpetrated. I think the real conspiracy is what our Saudi "brethren" are doing to us and this deserves at least as much attention as the attention given to US "hand" in affairs Pakistani.
While our country is trying very hard to jail break from US, and at an enormous human and economic cost, let us not forget that this war is our war of independence. Independence from Taliban, from US, from Saudi Arabia and to a lesser extent to fend off Iranian influence and protect our soil from Indian subversive activities and overt intimidation.
When the dust settles, we shall Inshallah have a Pakistan-centric Pakistan where the value of human life, Pakistani human life is restored and we can stand tall with our dignity intact in the comity of nations as a peaceful and progressive people. We deserve it, it is our manifest destiny.
@ Reasonable. Thanks for making my point that biased people go to great lengths to avoid facts (and even common sense) that dispute their wild theories. . 1) Before 911 the military didn't scramble jets when control towers couldn't communicate with aircraft. Except for unauthorized flights near the White House the military rarely (and maybe never) were asked to investigate a commercial aircraft that lost communication with the tower. 2) Jet Fuel doesn't burn instantly - it has a higher flash point that gasoline and it's hard to catch fire with a match. If you ever get access to youtube here's a video that should help demonstrate my point http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxrWRfdLC3Y. More to the point - it's not just the "jet fuel" that become the fuel for the fire - it's the content of the entire building. 3) The structure of the Towers is discussed ad nausea in the 911 Commission report and it's clear your neither a physicist nor engineer - suggest you take the time to read the 911 Commission report if you ever want to sound intelligent on this subject. I will also remind you that not a single Engineering College in the World (including the Muslim World) has disputed the 911 Commission findings. 4) Implying that 911 was bogus because you didn't see pictures of a dead OBL is ridiculous - no doubt you would have claimed the photos were bogus.
@sabi: rightly said. This is the same mind set which denies Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq though million lives peridhed due to these weapons. This mind set also questions the moral grounds for Vietnam war which took far more lives. Dilemma of this mind set is that it become even more "weird" as it traverse geographically and back in time.
Unites States blows up two of its own buildings in Manhattan, attacks Pentagon to discredit Pakistan killing US Citizens in the process. Folks, there are conspiracy theories and there are conspiracy theories, why would the US do such a thing? Let us look at few realities:
US could simply cut-off all Pakistani Aid and opposed every single loan from every single international loans.
US could have put trade embargo as it bass successfully done against Iran. Now, there are public protest taking place and from all indications, it is only going to intensify.
Both looks to be lot simpler than blowing up two buildings, attacking Pentagon and killing US citizens to discredit Pakistan. Suppose, the Hon. Professor believes human life in the US is as cheap as it is Pakistan of the Hon. Professor has completely senile.
@Jawad U Rehman: Partially agree with you. Unfortunately there was not much rationality and reason in Pakistan to begin with.
@a Afridi is not in jail infact there is no Afridi. US has made this character up to give credibility to Osama story. Otherwise how Fox news can claim an interview with Afridi in jail? This all is really confusing.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: "The view of Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Professor Mujahid Kamran is not new for the readers of these columns, as these are the views of every single Muslim in the world." Your Knowledge about the view of every single Muslim of the world is really very impressive" And your sources to know the most intricate secrets of American design such as "After more than a decade, the US is still engaged in destroying Pakistan for no other reason except Pakistan’s nuclear capability." are even really mind blowing. I appeal that you be appointed the President cum Prime minister cum foreign minister of Pakistan and also the secretary General of UNO immediately.
which means Osama die for nothing?
well i am working out of Pakistan and to my surprise whenever i exchanged movies/documentaries stuff with a british/american guy, 90% of them had at least one documentary/movie related to conspiracy theory regarding 9/11. do not know they kept that one for me or what.
@Reasonable: 1) The cold war was long over, and pre 9/11 probably less than a dozen armed aircraft were stationed on alert status in the whole of the US. Not that they could have done much since the twin tower planes were diverted from nearby airports and headed right for New York City! The other 2 planes were not identified for some time since the hijackers turned off the Radar transponders that identify planes to air traffic control and they were lost in the maze of the thousands of other planes in the air over the US at the time. I believe that Massive Confusion was the order of the day! 2) Any student of metalurgy can tell you that structural steel weakens significantly in the presence of extended fires, in the twin towers case failing from the overburden of the many stories of weight above! A california freeway overpass collapsed after the steel bridge girders deformed from the heat of a massive gasoline tanker truck fire direclty underneath some years back. 3) Please give us some references on how buildings the size and height of the world trade center are supposed to fail with the damage they endured that day, and where is a dynamite explosion mentioned anywhere. 4) OBL congratulated the hijackers in videos he released, so where does your IF come into the discussion.
If there was no OBL then why is Dr. Afridi in jail?
First of all we know that Pakistanis have suffered so much at the hands of every government that we have no idea how governments of other countries operate and what their job is. DO you think Americans would accept their government doing 9/11 which killed 3000 something people? If that happens then their awam will probably lynch who ever was in government that time. The government is not that stupid. In PK every one in position of power works for self-interests but that does not happen in other countries.
Pray tell what USA got out of 9/11? Yes they attacked Afghanistan, made muslims appear as criminals all over the world but did you see how heavy the cost is to them. Do you think before perpetuating war they would not have had at least some idea of how much war is going to cost them?
On the other hand were the actions of US in-directly responsible for 9/11. Yes they were. US created taliban. Where were they when taliban banned women education? when they punished people for not having beards up to a certain length? The US created them and their ideology for its own purpose and then threw them away like disposable utensils. Unfortunately for them it cost them big time. Unfortunately for us it also cost us big time.
yes but partly USA wrote the plot and script and the actors he already knew but the way script was enhanced and implemented USA was entilrely surprised by that, and this was the only thing made USA more aggressive and mad. Instead, USA learn lesson from their stupid mistakes and estmation he jumped in the fire.
@Reasonable: I saw the video of the collapse. The whole thing looks very suspicious. Particularly, the lesser known third world trade center. Why did it collapse, without any plane hitting it? All the three collapses look suspiciously controlled. I am an Indian and a Hindu. I have no love lost for Muslims or Pakistanis. My take is that US had penetrated the Al Qaeda cell and synchronized the demolition with the plane crash. This however, looks logistically near impossible.
Irani president has repeatedly said that 9/11 was orchesterated. What is the proof that Ata actually did it ?
I solemnly claim hereby that I personally built st. Paul's cathedral, Parthenon and also Coliseum (for which I even had to practice a bit by building a scale model at stonehenge).
Not convinced - but I am claiming I did it - what more do you want by way of proof?
Mohammad Ali Siddiqui, "The view of Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Professor Mujahid Kamran is not new for the readers of these columns, as these are the views of every single Muslim in the world" Please don't include me in your list of 'every single muslim'.Perhaps you mean every fanatic! Be happy..
It is instructive that he has been made the Vice Chancellor by the Punjab Government.
So, let's summarise what we have seen in the last few weeks: the head of the top university in Pakistan spins a conspiracy theory about 9/11; the Chairman of Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research endorses a fake scientist claiming to run a car on water as fuel; the founder of the country's nuclear program plagiarises in his newspaper articles; and a sitting minister in the government (supposedly from liberal secular party) announces bounties for killings. Looks like rationality and reason is slowly departing this country. May Allah bless Pakistan and its people.
@A Pakistani:
Here is the conclusion for you.
The Americans/Russians/Jews/Indians/Martians did NOT do 9/11.
And Sheikh Osama did NOT die in 2006.
The VC was NOT being factual.
It is hard to believe that Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Ph.D physics and recipient of academic awards acting as Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University, could talk so stupidly before the academic staff that Sept 11, was stage managed by the US to find a pretext attacking the Muslim world. The premise initself very weak and appears utterly stupid. Having a doctorate degree in Physics and having an open, unbiased and rational mind at the same time is not always the case.
If the Muslims show unity and hold the spirit of Brotherhood among themselves then I think no power in this earth can destroy them. We have also learned through Wikileaks that Saudi King publicly siding towards Iran but secretly telling the US diplomats to "cut the head of the snake." They talk about Islam but simultaneously send troops to Bahrain to quell the popular uprising! What kind of Islam is that???
@sabi: I agree with you completely. The earthquake, floods and stationing of OBL in Pakistan all was arranged by the US. We cannot even breathe without the US and yet we believe in Allah!
You want a real case of CIA managed excuse for war? Read about the Gulf of Tonkin accident of 1964 which started the US war on Communism in Vietnam. On the US side only one destroyer ship, the USS Maddox was slightly damaged close to the coastline of North Vietnam. That was much less damage than the USS Cole in 2000 in Aden in the El Qaeda suicide attack at Aden in Yemen. Why didn't the US take that "excuse" for this presumed war on Islam? Why they waited 1 year to arrange a 9/11? That conspiracy theory does not make sense at all.
Vice chancellor of Punjab university... If such a intellectual has views like this and share with students without much of solid evidence, I can only say that the society is deeply filled with extremist mind set. This mind set, one day supports army, sometimes mullah, sometimes Qadri, sometimes govt and next day opposes them easily.... I just hope some messiah comes and saves this beautiful country.
With the conspiracy theories sprouting in Pakistan, your nation has the talent to put all of the Hollywood and Bollywood writers to shame. At least put it to good use and get some forex coming in - it will help ease the economic mess the state is in!
they are just providing laughable statements for the world. and its surprising that serious people paying attention to their foolish statements/ claims and ideas. they are even not able to be heard. they doing their business to make fool the community which are ready to believe them. whom they papered since long time for that purpose.
Please publish this in Urdu and send it across Pakistan. We the pakistanis are in utter disbelief. We only believe in conspiracy theories that reflect west as bad and muslim world as innocent.
The false flag concept in the case of 9/11 requires nothing less than a conspiracy prone fool of questionable critical thinking skills or the propensity to demonize "the West" for it to take hold in any way. Even if there was some intent for a big conspiracy going on to victimize the peace loving people who consider making snuff films a holy act in the form of a false flag operation, it wouldn't come in the form of 9/11. Looking at the whole situation, people are saying that, just for a reason to go to war they set a plan into motion that involved... 1. 3 Planes hijacked, killing everyone on-board 2. The murder of around 3,000 other innocent people 3. Destroying huge economy-related towers used by most of the developed world in the middle of a densely populated city that would also harm much of the surrounding area leading to economic losses even the most greedy and evil politician would consider insane. 4. Then spend even more to rebuild it while simultaneously funding a war effort 5. I'm sure I could think of other details but I'm cutting it short for comment length
All that, just for a reason to go to war, is simply ridiculous. Even something that dwarfs that would give justification. Blow up any government building of far lesser magnitude, fake an assassination attempt, fake a takeover of a significant place ending in the perpetrators deaths, make a fake video of a war declaration with supposed citizens and officials being executed, and so on.
All those smaller things and more would be sufficient for a false flag operation to succeed. After all, for conspiracy theorists, it's important to add in government denials in the face of supposed contradicting facts. It doesn't even need to be planned well. With all that, anyone who says 9/11 was staged shouldn't be allowed to interact with anyone except from a safe distance in padded room.
Circumstances surrounding 9/11 are certainly curious. Not giving any attention the conspiracy theories here are just a few logical questions: 1. The US airspace is one of the most heavily guarded airspaces in the world. Four passenger airplanes managed to float around off course for over an hour when it would be usual for stray aircrafts to be intercepted and escorted. 2. Any student of physics can tell you that jet fuel burn instantly. Neither does it reach the temperatures to melt steel. Not to mention tonnes of it! 3. Were the buildings structurally flawed because it was technically impossible for a steel structure to fall on itself like concrete rubble after a dynamite demolition 4. Finally Bin Laden "IF" responsible for 9/11 was a huge trophy for the US. Why did we see photos of Obama and the cabinet while we actually should have seen Osama and company. Remember Saddams capture? The US and the international media waved the trophy over and over again so much so that we all still have the images embedded in our heads.
Just a few questions ... will be glad to hear what my fellows here think?
.
On the 10 most wanted list on the FBI's website, the charges for which that agency wanted Osama bin Laden made no mention of 9/11 at all; he was wanted only for bombing the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 as well as unspecified "other terrorist attacks throughout the world."
Faith itself is a matter of belief without proof - so any narrative that purports victimization or some other far-fangled conspiracy theory that targets a specific faith also requires very little proof - especially in the case of Pakistanis who seem to have developed mixing a deep-seated persecution complex and an over-active imagination into a rather unique art form. And when your top 'nuclear' scientist supports water-based vehicles and describes on TV magic trips to the kaaba at the speed of light, one can't fault the odd vice-chancellor for his flights of fancy.
You are overlooking the fact that Dr. Mujahid Kamran has very close ties with Dr. Majid Nizami who is the premier guardian and promoter of his own version of the Ideology of Pakistan. Majid Nizami remains committed to going to New Delhi atop a military tank which should clear up any and all misconceptions India may have regarding Pakistan not having a match for Bal Thackeray. When the history of Pakistan is written decades from today the role of individuals like Mujahid Kamran, Majid Nizami, the Jamaat-i-Islami and similar such individuals and organizations will be highlighted in BOLD letters. This is the same lot that chose to bury its head in sand prior to the Dhaka debacle in December 1971.
I'm surprised when people say that USA staged 9/11. Staged 9/11 to attack Afghanistan?!
US has a history of starting wars. They never need to stage anything that big. Baigharaton ki tarah they just attack anything they want to. Even for Iraq, they just lied about nukes, attacked, and a little later even admitted that Iraq didn't have nukes.
Admitted! They didn't even pull out fake nukes to justify their attack!
Leaving aside the logistics of staging something like the 9/11, I must ask these conspiracy theorists ... Akhir Afghanistan konsi aisi toap tha jis ke liye USA ended crashing their own planes into their own buildings with casualities in thousands?
The view of Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Professor Mujahid Kamran is not new for the readers of these columns, as these are the views of every single Muslim in the world.
The drama of 9/11 is to roll back the nuclear capability of Pakistan as it is the only Muslim Country on the world map which has the nuclear capability.
US is of the opinion that any country can have the nuclear capability, except Muslim Countries.
After more than a decade, the US is still engaged in destroying Pakistan for no other reason except Pakistan's nuclear capability.
As per the VC logic, if OBL operation was a charade then the wives and kids born in Pakistan were also fake. Since there were no wives, children or OBL, then Dr Afridiis an innocent man, that is if he even exists? Its good we have banned all forms of external informational resources, the book 'One thousand and one nights' (Arabian nights) should be made compulsory reading and used as the main source of all knowledge.
This piece quoted a lot of facts, but didn't get to a point. What is the conclusion? Are these facts true, and should we believe them or are they false? Either way I would like a clearer conclusion to this piece.
Michael Meacher writes in The Guardian, 22 July 2004. "Significantly, Sheikh is also the man who, on the instructions of General Mahmoud Ahmed, the then head of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), wired $100,000 before the 9/11 attacks to Mohammed Atta, the lead hijacker."
Claiming that the US staged 9/11 to hurt Muslims and Pakistan is just plain stupid. If Muslims as a whole were a peaceful folk (think Jains), the US would not have any problem with them as would the rest of the world. The US would love to see everyone get along with each other (let's build prosperity for all). We have nothing to gain and everything to lose from bloodshed. I welcome all who want to live in peace, Muslims included, but in spite of my pacifist attitude, I would gladly adopt a Taliban approach to those who are bent on hurting others for whatever reason. Do also remember how the US came about: it's a United Nations in practice; we have people from all over the world trying to build a success story for themselves. It's not a perfect experiment, but in general it is so much better than so many other interethnic relations we have witnessed elsewhere in the world. The Talibans are a threat to everyone including Muslims who want to live in peace.
Dr Mujahid Kamran may have received many prestigious awards in Pakistan but so have your vaunted scientist who apparently ignored basic physics and supported the magical car that could run on water. Did anyone bother to ask Kamram how a dead man sired children or what all those wife's were doing in Abbottabad? Conspiracy theorist have one thing in common - they NEVER hang around for tough questions - and NEVER have the guts to get on stage and debate their wild theories. . The conspiracy theory that the tower collapse was a controlled explosion is one of the most popular -- usually based on layman's belief that that steel can't melt and some interview with a "scientist" who has never been associated with a single building demolition. The conspiracy theory advocates never hang around to listen to the interviews of the people who actually get paid enormous sums to bring down high rises - those "experts" make it painfully obvious that the tower collapse looks nothing like a controlled demolition. No surprise here as biased people tend to go through extraordinary lengths to avoid mountains of evidence to support that bias.
Bottom line..To survive in JI dominated university, poor VC must speak their language, otherwise receiving of Abdus Salam award is the enough reason to stop him at entrance gate.
This explains everything! I could go to YouTube and find the poorly edited videos that PROVE that the CIA orchestrated 9/11. But US government arranged for making blasphemy film against Islam, so that the government of Pakistan is forced ban YouTube,....and now, I cannot access the video that proves that Amreeka did 9/11!
This is the same mindeset who denied human landing at moon.Had they lived in caves they would have definetly denied the existance of modern science mircles of tv telephone electricity internet space technology.But what to do this is their way of business let them enjoy.
