Smuggling bid foiled: 9kg of heroin seized from airport

Man was arrested from Benazir Bhutto International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs to Belgium on Friday.

RAWALPINDI: A man was arrested from Benazir Bhutto International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs to Belgium on Friday. Official sources said that the custom officials stopped a passenger travelling to Brussels via flight number EY-232 and seized nearly nine kilograms of heroin from his luggage upon inspection. The suspect, identified as Mehr Ali Shah, a resident of Mandu Bahauddin, is being interrogated.
