Oil and gas sector: OMV expresses interest in expansion
President Zardari appreciated OMV for being a major foreign gas producer in the country.
KARACHI:
A delegation of OMV Aktiengesellschaft, Austria’s largest industrial oil and gas firm, headed by Jaap Huijskes, CEO of the conglomerate called on President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday. Huijskes while briefing the president about his company’s business ventures in Pakistan since 1990 in oil and gas exploration, expressed keen interest in further extending operations in Pakistan for mutual benefit. Zardari while welcoming their interest urged them for making greater investments in the country and to take advantage of the investor friendly Petroleum Policy 2012. He appreciated OMV for being a major foreign gas producer in the country. He also invited OMV to consider entering into joint ventures with public sector organisations like Oil and Gas Development Company and Pakistan Petroleum.
