Students from over 50 schools and colleges attended the inaugural session of a three-day programme that began here on Thursday.
The event, being held by Institute of Space Technology (IST) to mark World Space Week, aims to create awareness on space technology among people, said a press release issued by IST.
The first day featured an essay writing competition, painting and sketching competition, space theatre and a painting competition.
Students, who were enlightened about various aspects of space technology and its applications, showed keen interest in the models and projects on display.
The second day will present an e-poster designing competition, glider competition, space theatre and a space quiz contest. A kids’ arena with swings, food stalls and book stalls will be set up for students.
The third day will include an aeromodelling competition, glider competition and water rocket competition. An astronomy night and musical evening has also been arranged on the concluding day.
