World Twenty20: Cheerleaders labelled ‘disgraceful eyesore’
Sri Lanka cricket authorities say performers' amateur dancing, un-coordinated routines gained negative feedback.
COLOMBO:
Sri Lankan cricket authorities have complained to organisers about cheerleaders at the World Twenty20 after media described them as a ‘disgraceful eyesore’.
The performers’ amateur dancing and un-coordinated routines has gained outright disapproval by the media and cricket fans alike. “The impression created by these cheerleaders is not acceptable,” said Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga. “We had a lot of negative feedback which we passed on to the International Cricket Council as we had nothing to do with selecting the dance troupes.”
