Minhas, Yasin shine for KRL

Duo hits centuries against ZTBL in President’s Trophy.

KARACHI:
Shoaib Minhas and Naveed Yasin scored defiant centuries to put KRL in a commanding position against ZTBL on the second day of their President’s Trophy match yesterday.

Resuming at 293 for four, Minhas hit 152, while Naveed scored 100 to steer KRL to 496. Mohamamd Irfan, Rahat Ali and Nayyar Abbas then took a wicket apiece as KRL reduced ZTBL to 86 for three.


At Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, bowlers shined as Wapda fought back after being bowled out for 200, reducing SNGPL to 213 for seven with Azharullah and Sohaib Maqsood claiming three wickets apiece.

Meanwhile, Usman Arshad led a solid response by SBP after PIA’s 321 with an unbeaten knock of 103. At stumps, SBP were 211 for four with Usman Saeed being the other main scorer with 63. At the NBP Stadium, Port Qasim were 156 for three after UBL were bundled out for 323 following a four-wicket haul by Mohammad Talha. Imran Farhat scored 88 as HBL made 239 for four in reply to NBP’s first-innings total of 329. Shan Masood, who was on 55, will resume the penultimate day’s play.
