Transfer payment: Power disconnected for ‘unpaid bills’

Electricity supply to the 8,000-residents colony was suspended due to an outstanding bill of Rs1.8million.

There has been no electricity at the Railways Colony Wazirabad for seven days. Electricity supply to the 8,000-residents colony was suspended due to an outstanding bill of Rs1.8million. Railway Workers Union chairman Chaudhry Imran Inayat Advocate told the media that railway had failed to pay despite having collected the amount from its employees. He said Deputy Superintendent Kamran Memon had promised to get the electricity restored but had yet to fulfill the promise.


RWU president Younas Bhatti threatened agitation if the electricity supply was not restored till Thursday (today).
