NDMA chief told: Flood-hit in Balochistan ‘unattended’
Legislators tell chairman that the authority should speed up its rescue efforts.

Legislators from Balochistan called on chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Zafar Iqbal Qadir and apprised him of the miseries of the flood-hit people in the province. NDMA chairman told the delegation of lawmakers including Mir Sadiq Umrani, Babu Mohammad Amin Umrani and Salim Khosa, that about 0.8 million people were affected by the flash floods in Naseerabad and Jaffarabad districts. “Soon after the calamity hit the region, NDMA through PDMA initiated rescue and relief work,” he said. The legislators told the chairman that a massive chunk of the population is still unattended, and that the authority should speed up its rescue efforts.
