Maritime arrests: 33 Indian fishermen detained
The agency handed over the fishermen to police for further investigation.
KARACHI:
Some 33 Indian fishermen were arrested, on Monday, after the Maritime Security Agency (MSA) held five fishing boats for illegally entering the country’s territorial waters. The fishermen were held after the MSA intercepted their boats during routine patrols in the Arabian Sea.
A statement issued by the agency said “the fishermen were apprehended for poaching approximately 90 nautical miles inside Pakistani territory.” The agency handed over the fishermen to police for further investigation.
