Baldia fire: Court grants interim bail to factory owners

The bail was set at Rs1 million each for Abdul Aziz Bhaila and his sons Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila.

The owners of Ali Enterprises, who are facing murder charges for the fire that broke out in their factory, were granted interim bail till October 6 by a sessions court on Monday.



On September 11, more than 250 people were burnt alive in the inferno at Ali Enterprises. Investigations are underway to determine how the fire started.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (West) Abdullah Channah set the bail at Rs1 million each for Abdul Aziz Bhaila and his sons Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila.

Earlier, the owners of the factory had approached the Sindh High Court’s circuit bench in Larkana. They were seeking protective bail which was granted by the bench. The general manager of the factory, who was also accused in the case, was remanded in judicial custody by Judicial Magistrate (West) Sohail Ahmed Mashori till Wednesday. The magistrate directed the investigation officer of the case to submit remand reports under section 173.
