Fatal accident: Orient Lab case adjourned till 3rd
The petitioners’ counsel said Section 302 could not be invoked in this case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Arshad Ali on Monday adjourned for October 3 the hearing on post-arrest bails of Orient Lab Chief Executive Zaheer Iqbal and Director Zafar Iqbal. The petitioners’ counsel said Section 302 could not be invoked in this case. Why would the owner of a factory plan its collapse and kill 26 of his employees, he asked. He said even if it was assumed that the factory collapsed due to the negligence, Section 302 would be irrelevant. The counsel for the families of the deceased workers had submitted during the previous hearing that the lab owners were aware of the dilapidated condition of the building.
