SARGODHA: Jamaat-i-Islami Deputy Secretary General Fareed Paracha said on Monday his party supported the revival of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said successive governments had done nothing for the welfare of people of Balochistan. He said the party was in talks with the PML-N and PTI about a possible electoral alliance. He said it was also consulting other political parties regarding the nomination of a caretaker prime minister. He said it welcomed some parties’ support for Qazi Hussain Ahmed, a former JI chief. He said the cancellation of visits to Pakistan by four heads of states showed foreign policy was a failure. He said the country was facing severe power load-shedding due to the poor policies of the government.

Earlier, addressing the JI district assembly, Paracha said self-accountability was key to the party’s success.
