Dr Aftab Qureshi: Seven accused to appear for hearing on Oct 8
Judge Aijaz Khaskheli has summoned the seven arrested suspects.

Second additional district and sessions judge Aijaz Khaskheli, who is heading a judicial inquiry into the murder of Dr Aftab Qureshi, has summoned the seven arrested suspects to court on October 8.
He gave this order on Saturday after the recording the statement of Dr Fazl-e-Elahi, an official chemical officer. Dr Qureshi, a neurosurgeon, was killed on May 30 during a raid conducted in Hyderabad by Karachi’s policemen to rescue him from kidnappers. Rashid Ali, an assistant sub-inspector of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell, and a suspect, Younus Siyal, were also killed.
The Hyderabad police arrested the suspects Farooq Ahmed Laghari, Azhar Solangi, Haut Khan Banglani, Aziz Barejo, Muhammad Irfan Jat and Imdad Solangi on June 16. Ashok Kumar, another suspect, was arrested from the house where Dr Qureshi was kept.
Crime Branch DIG Farhat Junejo, who conducted the initial investigation, said 11 people were involved in Dr Qureshi’s kidnapping. The other suspects, Dr Daud Gishkori, Zain Jathyal, Akhtar Siyal and Ghulam Ali Khoso are still at large.
