Ill fated Baldia factory's GM remanded to police custody

A judicial magistrate on Saturday ordered for the general manager of the gutted garment factory in Baldia Town Karachi to be remanded in police custody till October 1, 2012.
Mansoor Ahmed, the general manager of the ill-fated factory was produced by the SITE-B police station along with eight other accused in the case.
The investigation officer (IO) in the case requested the magistrate to grant them custody of the accused to further question them.
Judicial Magistrate (West) Sohail Ahmed Mashori accepted their request and granted police custody till October 1, 2012 and directed the IO to submit case diaries at the next hearing.
Muhammad Ali, Fazal Ahmed, Arshad Mehmood, Muhammad Hanif, Majid Beg and three watchmen Fazal Ahmed, Arshad Muhammad and Ali Muhammad have also been remanded to police custody.
A case (FIR No 343/2012) was registered against the factory owners and others under sections 302, 322, 435, 436, 337 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the SITE-B police station.
