No contest: Man acquitted of robbery charges

Ali Akbar and his accomplices were accused of snatching a truck carrying cotton bales along with Rs10,000.

KARACHI: A man facing robbery charges was acquitted by a district and sessions court on Friday.

Ali Akbar and his accomplices were accused of snatching a truck carrying cotton bales along with Rs10,000 and mobile phones from a driver and cleaner near Link Road.

The district and sessions judge, Muhammad Yamin, acquitted Ali Akbar under section 265-H (i) of the Criminal Procedure Code as the complainant was not pursuing the case.
