Protecting the past: Govt to preserve historic buildings
Pir Mazharul Haq says govt has taken initiatives to preserve buildings belonging to Sindh’s historical institutions.

The provincial senior minister for education and literacy, Pir Mazharul Haq, said that the government has taken initiatives to preserve buildings belonging to Sindh’s historical educational institutions.
He paid a surprise visit to the Government Secondary School, Jacob Line, which used to be military barracks before partition. “In the past, the school has been badly neglected by previous governments but now it will be rehabilitated,” said the education minister.
He added that Rs85 million have been allocated to his department’s annual development projects for the current fiscal year and a portion of this would be used to repair the building. He said that the construction work would begin before October 30.
