KARACHI: Pakistan champions KRL were hit hard by Taiwan Power Company, going down 3-1 as they launched their campaign on a disappointing note in the AFC Presidents Cup in Tajikistan yesterday.

KRL managed to contain the top club in the championship in the first half but conceded their first goal when He Ming-Chan scored in the 55th minute. He then scored three minutes later to consolidate his side’s lead. KRL halved the deficit in the 88th minute through Muhammad Adil but that was not enough. Any chances of a last-gasp equaliser ended when Hung Kai-Chun sealed victory for Taiwan Power Company in the fourth minute of injury time.

KRL play their next match against Palestine’s Al-Ammari Youth Club tomorrow.

Taiwan Power Company lead Group B with four points after they drew against Al-Ammari Youth Club FC 1-1 on Monday.
