Ransom: ‘Student’ kidnappers arrested, boy recovered
Police ask family to pay ransom, arrest suspects later.

Three people suspected of kidnapping a boy for ransom were arrested late on Tuesday night. The kidnapped child was also recovered.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sohail Habib Tajik told The Express Tribune that Muhammad Irfan, a student of Punjab College Bahawalpur, had been kidnapped from Hasilpur Road last Tuesday.
Later, Irfan’s family received a call from the kidnappers who demanded a Rs5 million for his safe release. He said a police team had traced the kidnappers through their mobile phone data. He said the family was asked to pay Rs2 million to the kidnappers to help Irfan’s recovery.
He said the police arrested the kidnappers after tracing them to Jhangwali after the exchange and recovered the ransom amount and two pistols.
He identified the three kidnappers as Muhammad Milad, Muhammad Waseem and Muhammad Zeeshan. He said Waseem is a student of Islamia University, Muhammad Milad is a first year student at the Sadiq Egerton College, Bahawalpur.
He told said Zeeshan had also admitted to kidnapping the son of Sadiq Dead High School’s headmaster Muhammad Aslam during his time as a matric student. He said he had received Rs1.6 million ransom for the boy.
