Anti-Islam film: Rallies continue in Balochistan
Dozens of workers belonging to the Al-Falah Education NGO staged a demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club.
QUETTA:
Religious parties and nongovernmental organisations rallied in different towns of Balochistan, including Quetta, on Sunday to condemn the anti-Islam film.
Dozens of workers belonging to the Al-Falah Education NGO staged a demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club. Protesters criticised the government, saying it should give up “US slavery” and sever its diplomatic relations with the US.
“Muslims will never tolerate blasphemy against the Prophet (PBUH) and are ready to render sacrifices for dignity of Islam,” said a protester at one rally.
Another rally was taken out in Dalbandin town of Chagai district by Jamiat Ulema Islam-Ideological and Ahle Sunnatwal Jamaat that converged at the town square.
Addressing the protesters, religious leaders Maulana Sanaullah Farooqi and Hafiz Hamdallah demanded stern action against the US film-maker.
Protesters burnt US flags and later dispersed peacefully.
Meanwhile, a rally was also organised by Jamaat Ahle Sunnah in Nushki where protesters marched through various roads, chanted anti-US slogans and condemned the blasphemous film.
