Flood relief: PM announces Rs2.6bn for affected in Balochistan

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Sunday announced a special relief package worth Rs2.6 billion for the flood victims of Balochistan.
Visiting the flood-hit area of Dera Murad Jamali, Ashraf ordered immediate release of the funds.
According to sources, Rs2 billion would be spent on reconstructing the infrastructure while Rs600 million would be spent on relief goods, including food and medicines.
In a meeting held to review flood relief efforts, Ashraf ordered the use of C-130 aircraft, incase of transportation problems, for distribution of relief goods.
The meeting was attended by Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Mir Changez Khan Jamali.
