France pledges Rs246m for health programme
The four-year programme will be implemented by the AKDN.
France has pledged 2 million euros (approximately Rs246.6 million) for cross-border regional health project, said a press release issued by the French embassy here on Friday.
The financial commitment for the project has been made by the French ministry of foreign affairs for or the regions of Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, Chitral district of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan and Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region of Tajikistan. The four-year programme will be implemented by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). French Ambassador Philippe Thiebaud will be the chief guest at the concludind session of a planning workshop on the programme on Saturday.
Health is one of France’s five priority sectors for development aid.
