Repatriation: IGP’s plea for staff officer rejected by government

Fayyaz Ahmed Sumbal has been directed to immediately report to the Balochistan police.

LAHORE:
The provincial government has rejected a request by the inspector general of Punjab Police to postpone his personal staff officer’s repatriation to Balochistan for three months.

Fayyaz Ahmed Sumbal has been directed to immediately report to the Balochistan police. A message sent to the Police Department on behalf of Chief Secretary Nasir Mahmood Khosa on Thursday said the postponement of Sumbal’s repatriation would set a precedent for other officers to seek similar favours.

IGP Habibur Rahman had requested the chief secretary to let Sumbal work as his personal staff officer till his retirement from service in December 2012.

Meanwhile, the federal government relieved Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Ali Neekokar, assigned with the Motorway Police, for the province on the chief secretary’s request.
