Sindh Bachayo Committee to protest against SLGO
Multiple protests will be organised across Sindh till the ordinance is withdrawn.
KARACHI:
The Sindh Bachayo Committee (SBC) has warned the government that there will be widespread protests if it does not withdraw the new Sindh Peoples Government Ordinance.
The committee met on Sunday at Haider Manzil in which it termed the ordinance an ‘anti-Sindh ordinance’. The head of the Sindh United Party, Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, led the meeting. Leaders of different nationalist parties, including Dr Qadir Magsi and Dr Safdar Sarki, and members of political parties, including Saleem Zia and Irfanullah Marwat, were present.
A press conference was also held after the meeting. Shah said that the ordinance was an attempt to divide the province. “We will not allow anyone to implement this system in Sindh. We will resist it,” he warned. He added that the committee will continue to protest against the ordinance until the government withdraws it.
He said that different political, religious and nationalist parties will organise a hunger strike outside the Karachi Press Club on September 21. “We will block all major roads, including National Highway and Super Highway, on September 26. A rally will also be held in Thatta on September 30.”
After this rally, protests will be held across different cities on each Friday. There will also be sit-ins in different cities on each Sunday.
