Ghazala Javed Murder: Singer’s ex-husband withdraws bail
Jehangir was arrested by Shah Qabool police on August 29 on suspicion of murder.

Ghazala Javed’s suspected murderer and ex-husband, Jehangir, withdrew his bail application from a local Peshawar court on Saturday.
He requested the court to send him to jail. The hearing was adjourned till September 22. According to an FIR registered at Shah Qabool police station on June 17, Ghazala Javed, a local Pashto singer, and her father were gunned down outside a beauty parlour. Jehangir was arrested by Shah Qabool police on August 29 on suspicion of murder.
The FIR was filed by Javed’s younger sister Farhat. She said that the killing could have been motivated by the fact that her sister got divorced from her husband only six months after they were married.
Jehangir has continued to deny the charges against him. On August 30, he was produced before Magistrate Adil Akbar, who initially put him in police custody for two days. He later sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on September 1. Investigations into the case are still underway.
