Missing persons: UN delegation calls on advocate general, CM
Missing persons in Sindh fall into 3 categories: those abducted for ransom, tribal feuds and “jihadis”.

A United Nations delegation formed to look into the cases of missing persons called on the Sindh advocate general, Abdul Fattah Malik, on Friday afternoon.
The delegation, led by Oliver de Frouville, Osma El-Hajje and Aliyar, discussed the people allegedly in the custody of law enforcement agencies. The Sindh Advocate General office and the associates are cooperating with the courts in an attempt to recover the missing men. Many of them have been traced, rescued and sent back home, Malik told the visiting delegation. He also enumerated the steps taken by the government and its agencies on the matter. The missing persons in Sindh fall into three categories: those abducted for ransom, tribal feuds and those siding with the “jihadis”.
The delegation also visited Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on the same day. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas, IG Police Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Waseem Ahmed.
The members inquired about missing persons of Sindhi nationalist parties and relief being provided to their families. The delegation plans to visit Balochistan next and then hold a national conference on missing people in Pakistan. A final report will then be submitted to the UN.
