Remove PHF officials now: Olympians

Former legends seek govt’s help, want adhoc setup installed.

KARACHI:

Unhappy Olympians lamenting the state of hockey in the country have, once again, demanded the removal of the current Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) officials and threatened to hold a protest in front of parliament.

Former legends assembled at the Karachi Press Club yesterday to make that point. Later, Islahuddin added that they will also try to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf for this cause.

“Our demand is to impose an adhoc set-up,” said Islah. “There should be a five-member committee to run the affairs and we suggest the ruling party to nominate their own candidates. We want the removal of current officials who have been with PHF for over four years but have failed to deliver.”
