Education: 613 Bahawalpur students get laptops

More than half belong to Quaid-i-Azam Medical College.

Laptops were distributed among 613 students of Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar districts in a ceremony here on Thursday.


Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichi was the chief guest.

He hoped that the students receiving the laptops would use them to improve their academic performance. He said the provincial government was committed to promotion of education through distribution of laptops and provision of foreign scholarships.

Deputy Director (Colleges) Muhammad Azhar Rai said the students selected for distribution of laptops on Thursday were the ones missed during the first and second phase.

Among the 613 students who received laptops, 484 were from Quaid-i-Azam Medical College, 91 from Government Sadiq Egerton College, 13 from Government College Haroonabad,12 from Post Graduate Degree College, six from Post Graduate College for Girls Bahawalnagar, three each from Sadiq Girls Degree College and Government Post Graduate College, Bahawalnagar, and one from Government Post Graduate College for Boys, Chishtian.

Quaid-i-Azam Medical College’s Prof Khawaja Haroon Rasheed Pasha and DCO Dr Naeem Rauf were also present at the ceremony.
