Boxing: Hatton expected to announce comeback

In 2010, he was stripped of his licence to box after allegations of cocaine usage.

Former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton is expected to announce his return to boxing tomorrow, according to the BBC. Hatton, 33, has not been in the ring since suffering a second-round knockout by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009. The Manchester-based, former light-welterweight and welterweight champion officially retired last year and is an owner of a promotions company. But he has called a news conference for tomorrow to make a ‘major announcement’. In 2010 Hatton was stripped of his licence to box by the British Boxing Board of Control after allegations of cocaine usage.
