Football: Drogba drops on Arsenal’s radar

Arsenal are conscious of the conflict in Shanghai and it is asserted they regard Drogba as the man to fill the void.

Arsenal have made inquisitions about getting Didier Drogba away from Shanghai Shenhua. The Ivorian was the Chinese club’s marquee summer signing, being lured to the Far East on the back of his Champions League-winning exploits with Chelsea. However, the forward has found himself caught between a power struggle at the club — which could result in Shenhua looking to offload the 34-year-old, according to ESPN. Arsenal are conscious of the conflict in Shanghai and it is asserted they regard Drogba as the man to fill the void left by Robin van Persie’s departure to Manchester United.
