Suspect in murder of six arrested
Counsel for the complainant said that six people were killed and four injured in the incident.

The Lahore High Court chief justice on Friday adjourned the suo motu hearing of the case involving the murder of six people including a lawyer and his brother in Ludhar Pind, Lahore, after he was informed that one of the suspects had been arrested.
SP Umar Virk filed a report stating that several cases had been registered against people harbouring proclaimed offenders. He said one of the proclaimed offenders, Bashir alias Toti, had since been arrested and was on physical remand. He requested the court to allow more time for the arrest of the remaining suspects. The CJ deferred the hearing till September 10.
At the previous hearing, DSP Muhammad Athar had informed the court that Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali had been arrested and that two out of the seven people nominated in the FIR were also in police custody. The DSP had also said that five more people, implicated in the supplementary statements had also been arrested while two remained at large.
The FIR was registered with the Burki police station.

He said that despite the lapse of five months the police had failed to arrest all the people involved in the murders.
Advocate Muhammad Nasir of Ludhar Pind was murdered on March 10 along with his brother and a cousin, reportedly over old enmity. Later, three more people succumbed to the injuries sustained in the incident.
