Football: Pakistan crash out of SAF tournament
Pakistan needed to win two matches out of three to qualify for the second round.
Pakistan women’s team crashed out of the South Asian Football Championship when they lost to Afghanistan 4-0 in Colombo. The team failed to repeat its performance after making the tournament debut last year, where they won their first international match against Nepal and bagged a bronze medal in Dhaka. However, with the absence of head coach Tariq Lutfi, who is busy with his departmental side KRL in the Pakistan Premier Football League, the team lost to Nepal 7-0 in their opening Group B match. Pakistan needed to win two matches out of three to qualify for the second round. They will be playing their third and last match of the tournament against the Maldives today.
