Murder: Woman found hanged in orchard

The body was taken to Saidu Teaching Hospital but could not be identified till the filing of this report.

A young woman was found hanged in Panjigram area of Swat on Sunday. Police said the young woman, who is believed to be around 22 years of age, was found hanged in a peach orchard, adding that an infant, who is believed to be of the deceased woman, was also recovered from the area.

The body was taken to Saidu Teaching Hospital but could not be identified till the filing of this report. Police lodged a case against unidentified killers and started investigation.


Meanwhile, members of the Kohistan Qaumi Jirga condemned the recent killing of a young woman in a village of Bahrain Tehsil and demanded that the investigation be expedited to arrest the assailants.

According to officials, a young woman, Rubeena, 22, was abducted from Ramait village on August 26 and her mutilated body was found dumped in a drain in the area six days later.

Locals said the incident has spread fear and grief in the locality.
