KRL continue unbeaten streak

Defending champions KRL prevailed over the Pakistan Army outfit 1-0 in Islamabad.

KARACHI:
Defending champions KRL continued their winning run at the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), prevailing over the Pakistan Army outfit 1-0 in Islamabad yesterday.

After a goal-less first-half, Mohammad Qasim found the opening his team was searching for to put KRL in the lead. Despite five attempts on goal, Army failed to open their account as KRL registered their third successive win in the tournament.

In other PPFL matches, KESC and NBP played out a 1-1 draw. Mohammad Riaz scored the first goal of the match in the 63rd minute before NBP’s Faisal Iqbal equalised 10 minutes later. With the scores level, both teams tried their best but to no avail. Both KESC and NBP now have five points each with two drawn games and a victory.

In another match, Pakistan Navy and HBL recorded a goal-less draw 0-0. Navy have three points, while HBL have one.

Another game, between Afghan FC and Baloch FC in Quetta, was postponed due to rain.
