Intermediate results: Private colleges secure most top positions

33 of 35 top positions won by private college students in Faisalabad, 27 of 31 in Gujranwala and 18 of 33 in Sargodha.

As many as 42,038 of 76,782 candidates who sat the intermediate exams in Faisalabad passed it, according to the results announced by Faisalabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Saturday.


The pass percentage remained 54.75.

As many as 33 of the 35 candidates who secured top three positions in pre-medical, pre-engineering, general sciences, arts and commerce groups were from private colleges.

The first position was shared at 1,030 marks by Shazia Sharif of Punjab College for Girls Toba Tek Singh and Muhammad Aftab of Punjab College of Science Faisalabad. Muhammad Owais Javed of Punjab College of Science stood second with 1,028 marks and Muhammad Ali Najam, who sat the exam without affiliation with an education institute, third with 1,025 marks

Law Minister Rana Sanaullah distributed prizes among position holders at a ceremony at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium.

In pre-medical group (girls), Shazia Sharif of Punjab College for Girls Toba Tek Singh stood first, Sidra Aslam of Punjab College, Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad, second and Aisha Rafiq of Punjab College, Rajana Road, Toba Tek Singh, third.

In pre-medical group (boys), Muhammad Owais Javed of Punjab College of Science, Faisalabad, stood first, Muhammad Zaid Iqbal of Superior College, Faisalabad, second and Osama Arshad of Punjab College of Science, Faisalabad, third.

In pre-engineering group (girls), Aisha Tariq of Punjab College, Faisalabad, stood first, Sana Inam and Muqaddas Rafiq, both not affiliated with an education institute, second and third, respectively.

In pre-engineering group (boys), Muhammad Aftab Ahmed of Punjab College of Science, Faisalabad, stood first, and Muhammad Ali Anjum and Owais Ali second and third, respectively.

In general science group (girls), Anam Rahman of Punjab College for Girls Faisalabad stood first, Mubeen Nawaz  of Punjab College of Science and Commerce, Gojra, second and Nabeela Ashraf of Punjab College, Faisalabad.

In general science group (boys), Muhammad Sajawal of Government College, Sammundari, stood first, Osama Khalid of Punjab College of Science, Faisalabad, second and Abdul Wahab third.

In arts group (girls), Taqaddus Arshad of Government Municipal Degree College, Gojra, stood first, Sidra Zahoor of Nobel Grammar Girls Higher Secondary School, Chak 338JB, New Lahore, second and Anam Asghar third.

In arts (boys), Faisal Abbas of Chiniot stood first, Muhammad Arshad Faizan of Faisalabad second and Arfan Qaiser of Chiniot.

In commerce group (girls), Iqra Qadri stood first, Misbah Akram second and Rimsha Kareem and Beenish Hafeez shared third position.

In commerce group (boys), Muhammad Muzaffar Awan stood first, Muhammad Sheraz second and Muhammad Naeem third.

Sargodha

As many as 17,992 of 33,312 candidates who sat the intermediate exam in Sargodha passed it, according to the results announced on Saturday. The pass percentage remained 54.01 per cent

As many as 18 of the 33 position holders in various categories were from private colleges, 11 from public colleges and four sat the exams without affiliation with any institute.

Umme Salma of Punjab College for Girls stood first with 1,014 marks; Tooba Ayub of District Public School and Inter College, Joharabad, second with 1,011 marks; and Wajiha Ahmed and Maria Ghani of Punjab College for Girls and Sidra Riaz of District Public School and Inter College, Joharabad, shared third position with 1,008 marks.

In pre-medical (boys), Tauqeer Ahmed of Government College, Bhakkar, stood first, Owais Khalid of Punjab College of Information Technology second and Zainul Abideen and Khurram Shahzad of Punjab College of Information Technology shared third position.

In pre-medical (girls), Tooba Ayub of District Public School and Inter College Joharabad, stood first, Wajiha Ahmed and Maria Ghani of Punjab College for Girls, Sargodha, and Sidra Riaz of District Public School and Inter College, Joharabad, shared second position and Hina Javed of Punjab College for Girls and Aneela Arif of Superior College for Women shared third position.

In pre-engineering (boys), Muhammad Bilal Aslam of ILM College and Jalal Ahmed of Punjab College of Information Technology stood first, Azizul Hasan of Government College Bhakkar second and  Zawar Haider of PAF Public School third.

In pre-medical (girls), Umme Salma of the Punjab College stood first, Anam Riaz and Samar Hanif, both private students, second and third, respectively.


In general science (boys), Israr Ahmed of Punjab College of Information Technology stood first, Farrukh Haider of Government College Joharabad second and Gulraiz Khan of Government College, Bhakkar, third.

In general science (girls), Shanzay Hasan of Governnment College for Women stood first, Asma Sarwar of Punjab College for Women second and Sana Shabbir of Punjab College for Women third.

In commerce, Mahtab Ali Zaidi stood first, Ahsan Ali of Punjab College second and Sheraz Ahmed third.

In arts (boys), Naeem Ullah of Government Higher Secondary School, Hyderabad Thal, and Muhammad Ilyas of Government College, Bhakkar, shared first position; Ghulam Mustafa of Moeen Islamic Academy Berbal Sharif Shahpur second and Muhammad Owais of Darool Uloom Muhammadiya Ghausia third.

In arts (girls), Yaman Izhar of Punjab College stood first, Rabia Kauser of Govt Higher Secondary School Wajh second and Zainab Waheed of Punjab College third.

Agriculture Minister Ahmed Ali Aulakh distributed prizes and certificates among the position holders.

Gujranwala

As many as 51, 844 of 105,700 candidates who sat the exams in Gujranwala passed it, according to results announced on Saturday. The pass percentage remained 49.05 per cent.

As many as 27 of the 31 candidates who secured the top three positions in pre-engineering, pre-medical, general science, arts and commerce categories, were enrolled in private colleges and the remaining four in public colleges.

Saba Khalid of Punjab College stood first with 1,034 marks, Bilal Younis of Punjab College, Sialkot, second with 1,026 marks and Zainab Farooq of Punjab College third with 1,022 marks.

Bahawalpur

As many as 18,613 of 39,669 candidates have passed the intermediate examinations held by the Bahawalpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

The pass percentage according to the results announced at a ceremony on Saturday remained 46.92 per cent.

The first position was shared at 1,014 marks, out of 1,100, by three girls: Farwa Liaquat of Madrasatul Binat Higher Secondary School Girls, Sadiqabad; Anum Rasool of Government College for Women, Bahawalnagar, and Saba Tasleem of Government College for Women, Haroonabad. Nauman Ashraf of Punjab College, Rahim Yar Khan, was second with 1,013 marks and Hafiza Sadia Saqib of Chishtian Science College third with 1,007 marks.

In pre-medical group (girls), Farwa Liaquat stood first with 1,014 marks, Hafiza Sadia Saqib second with 1,007 marks and Iqra Rasheed third with 1,003 marks.

In pre-medical group (boys), Muhammad Adnan Haider stood first with 1,005 marks, Muhammad Manan second with 994 marks and Muhammad Ahmad Abubakar third with 991 marks.

In pre-engineering (girls) Anum Rasool and Saba Tasleem shared first position; Warda Nasir stood second and Shaheen Kanwal third.

In pre-engineering (boys), Nauman Ashraf stood first, Bilal Shahid second and Mahir Majeed third.

In general science (girls), Saba Iqbal was first, Aqsa Ramazan second and Ayesha Ishaq third.

In general science (boys) Ahmar Shafiq was first, Mahir Iqbal second and Muhammad Faisal Rizwan third.

In arts (girls) Ghazala Khan was first, Asma Majeed second and Ayesha Mushtaq third.

In arts groups (boys) Habib Ahmad was first, Muhammad Usama second and Muhammad Naeem third.

Provincial Minister for Prisons Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar distributed the prizes among position holders.

The five candidates on the first three positions were each given a laptop, Rs15,000 cash prize and a gold medal. Second and third position holders were given silver medal and Rs10,000 and bronze medal and Rs5,000,respectively.
