Politicking: Govt hampering establishment of LHC bench in Faisalabad
Raja Riaz says his party supports demand for high court bench in Faisalabad.
FAISALABAD:
Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmad has alleged that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah are creating hurdles to the establishment of a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench in Faisalabad.
He was addressing a protest camp set up by the Faisalabad Bar Association to press for the establishment of an LHC circuit bench.
Riaz said his party supported the demand for the establishment of the bench at Faisalabad.
“I had sent a file to the chief minister endorsing the establishment of the bench in Faisalabad.
My fear is that the file was trashed,” he said.
He said he would raise a voice for the demand at the next session of the provincial assembly.
Opposition Leader Riaz said a Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) government in the province would take no more than a month to set up an LHC circuit bench in Faisalabad.
Bar President Munawar Sindhu and Secretary Chaudhary Khushhal also spoke on the occasion.
