New ambassador: Denmark’s envoy takes charge

Ambassador Moesby is replacing Uffe Wollfhechel, who had been serving since 2010.

The newly appointed Danish ambassador, Ole E Moesby, visited President Asif Ali Zardari to present his credentials to take up his new role, said a press release.

President Zardari appreciated the support of the Danish people to Pakistan through its humanitarian and development assistance programme. Ambassador Moesby thanked President Zardari and added that Denmark would continue to extend all possible support to Pakistan.


The ambassador comes from Prague, where he served as the Danish ambassador for over four years. He holds a Master’s degree in political science from University of Aarhus in Denmark. He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987 as Head of section in the Africa Department and has since then served on various positions related to the African continent, as Danish ambassador to Zimbabwe and also Egypt.

Ambassador Moesby is replacing Uffe Wollfhechel, who had been serving since 2010.
