US Open: Bryan brothers beat Aisam, Rojer in semi-final

The twins, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan beat the Pak-Dutch duo, 6-3 (1), 6-4(2). Will face Paes-Stepanek in final.

NEW YORK:
Aisamul Haq Qureshi and Dutch partner Jean-Julien Rojer's US Open campaign ended on Thursday after being defeated by American pair, the Bryan brothers in the semi-final, Express News reported.

The twins, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan beat the Pak-Dutch duo, 6-3 (1), 6-4(2) in a match lasting under two hours.

Fast becoming a nemesis of sorts for the Pak-Dutch duo, the American twins have earlier defeated them at the Cincinnati Masters 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 in the quarter-finals and 6-3, 7-6 in the Roland-Garros men’s doubles semi-finals.

This is not the first time that the Bryan brothers have defeated Aisam on home turf. In the 2010 edition of the US Open, Aisam and then partner Rohan Bopanna were beaten 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/4).

The American pair will now face Leander Paes (India) and Radek Stepanek (Czech Republic) in Sunday's final. The Indian-Czech duo had prevailed upon their sixth seeded opponents Spaniards Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez when the latter retired with the scoreline reading 6-6.
