Fees increased: BZU students protest
The raised fees would discourage poor students from getting an education, says students.

Dozens of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) students staged a sit-in in front of the administration office on Thursday and protested the recent raise in fees. They raised slogans against the Punjab government and said it had turned educational institutes from places of learning into business ventures. The students said the fee for an engineering degree had been raised from Rs8,000 to Rs22,000, examination fee from Rs2,200 to Rs3,000 and hostel fee from Rs11,800 to Rs22,000 per annum. They said the raised fees would discourage poor students from getting an education.
