Two women among eight injured in Khyber agency mortar shell attack

PESHAWAR:
Eight people, including two women were injured when a mortar shell hit a house in Malik Din Khel area of Khyber Agency on Wednesday.

Officials confirmed the incident, claiming that the rocket was fired by members of militant group, Lashkar-e-Islam.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation soon after the incident.

An official statemnt by Fronter Corps earlier in the day stated, "Security forces take extra precautionary measures to save civilian causalities, however militants deliberately target tribes and put the blame on security forces to create a misunderstanding between the security forces and the locals. Propagation of negative propaganda, which is causing resentment against Law enforcements Agencies, must be understood in the correct context.”

Last month, 10 people were killed in a mortar attack on a house in Khyber.
