Extortion case: Court reschedules hearing for Sept 12
The defence has completed its cross-examination and partial arguments were made.

Further arguments in the case of Mohammad Asif and Javed, who are accused of committing extortion, were rescheduled to September 12 after the Special Public Prosecutor Abdul Maroof Maher asked for more time to be able to make his arguments. The defence has completed its cross-examination and partial arguments were made on Wednesday. The case was filed by the Kharadar police station and is being heard by the Anti-Terrorism Court-III. The men are accused of attempting to extort Rs200,000. One of the accused, Javed, was arrested from Boat Basin last August. The other was arrested near the Baghdadi crossing. Mohammad Asif and Javed made their statements to the court on August 11.
