Custom officials seized approximately four kg of heroin hidden in a consignment containing T-shirts at the Benazir Bhutto International Islamabad Airport (BBIA) cargo section here on Wednesday. The seized drugs were worth million of rupees in the international market. According to BBIA Customs Focal Person Nasir Barlas, Custom officials received a tip off and recovered four kg of high grade heroin from a consignment marked as containing T-shirts. He said that the consignment was booked by a Sialkot-based company Sum to Sim Enterprises through Unique Association, Islamabad for Johannesburg, South Africa. “The heroin was found inside cotton packs used for packing the shirts during an inspection of the goods by Customs officials in the cargo section,” he said, adding that Sajjad, an agent associated with Unique Associates, had been arrested. A case has been registered.
