Dengue virus: Drive to drain water under way

The Agriculture secretary reviewed measures taken by his department to drain stagnant water.

MULTAN:
The Agriculture secretary on Wednesday reviewed measures taken by his department to drain stagnant water from graveyards and premises of shrines in the city. The Agriculture Department had formed these teams after complaints that water kept for birds in containers at shrines and graveyards could be a possible breeding site for dengue. EDO (Agriculture) Sardar Akbar Khan, who was also present at the meeting, said work was underway to remove these containers and to drain water puddles from these sites. He said there were more 750 graveyards and shrines in the city.
