KESC topps list of gas defaulters with Rs41.805billion worth of outstanding dues.
ISLAMABAD:
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain, in a written reply submitted to the assembly secretariat, told the National Assembly on Monday that the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) topped the list of gas defaulters with R41.805 billion in arrears.
He added that besides the KESC, the KESC KTPS Residential Complex in Karachi was also a major defaulter with Rs36 million in outstanding dues.
The KESC has disputed its outstanding dues with the SSGC, owning up to only bills worth Rs28 billion.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Shireen Arshad Khan had inquired about the names and addresses of companies and individuals whose gas dues were more than Rs10 million.
Responding to a question posed by MNA Shagufta Sadiq regarding whether there was a ban on the installation of CNG kits, Dr Hussain said that the government, as per approval of the CEC, has imposed a complete ban on company fitted CNG kits in locally manufactured vehicles.
