A Hindu farmer’s family and community members held a protest against his murder in Umerkot on Sunday. They claim the farmer, 30-year-old Chanesar Odh, was killed by a landlord and his men when he went fishing with other farmers near Sufi Faqeer on Saturday.

The other farmers were identified as Harchand Odh, Jumhon Odh and Dodo Odh were injured and taken to a district hospital. The authorities registered an FIR against Ahmed Sehto, Khalid Sehto, Daya Ram Kohli, Veelo, Aalam, Man Singh, Bhagwano, Teekmo and Kombho Kohli. Ahmed Sehto was arrested by the police.

The protesters blocked the main road for more than three hours and burnt tyres. He added that the suspects were already involved in criminal activity and was afraid the police would not arrest them.
